Honkai: Star Rail to increase Trailblaze Power cap, add quality-of-life changes in 1.3

The most impactful quality-of-life change will be the increase to total Trailblaze Power, the game’s ‘energy’ used in virtually everything players will need to farm.

Honkai: Star Rail developer HoYoverse announced on Friday (11 August) that the game will be receiving some major quality-of-life updates in version 1.3, including an increase to the maximum amount of Trailblaze Power available to players and a new ‘Reserved Trailblaze Power’ system, alongside other changes.

HoYoverse revealed these upcoming changes in a new Voice of the Galaxy|Developer Radio blog post.

By far the most impactful quality-of-life change will be the increase to total Trailblaze Power, the game’s ‘energy’ used in virtually everything players will need from Character and Light Cone Ascension materials, Relics, Credits, and more.

Currently, Trailblaze Power is capped at 180 and one point of it is recovered every six minutes, which totals 240 Trailblaze Power recovered every day, assuming a player is able to consume it before it reaches the cap of 180.

With the Trailblaze Power cap increasing to 240 in version 1.3, this means players only need to log in once per day in order to use all of their Trailblaze Power.

This is a really good change, as players can just log into the game once, spend all their Trailblaze Power in one go, and go off to do other things without having to worry about whether or not they’re being efficient with their use of Trailblaze Power.

HoYoverse added that once Trailblaze Power reaches the cap, a percentage of the surplus will be converted into Reserved Trailblaze Power to help players more efficiently spend Trailblaze Power.

The Reserved Trailblaze Power system seems similar to the ‘Stamina Depot’ system used in Honkai: Star Rail’s predecessor, Honkai Impact 3rd, which adds the game’s equivalent of Trailblaze Power at 40% of the original recharge rate to a reserve pool.

Aside from the huge change to Trailblaze Power, Honkai: Star Rail version 1.3 will also add a new Nihility Light Cone in the Simulated Universe’s Herta Store, stickers for the in-game chat, an option to display or hide the black navigation bar at the bottom of the screen on the PC version, and optimizations to the rewards system for players on their birthdays.

In addition, HoYoverse revealed they are also working on more quality-of-life updates that will be released in future versions.

The most exciting of the upcoming changes will be an optimization to the game’s auto-battle system, which has a tendency for characters to waste powerful ultimate abilities on low health enemies.

HoYoverse said they are working to “improve the auto-battle experience and optimize the logic behind when to use abilities” for characters during auto-battle.

Another upcoming change is an option for players to review dialogues in quests. This will let them check any dialogues they may have missed by accidentally clicking on the screen to advance dialogues in quests.

Finally, the developer is also working on improving the game’s Consumables system to make them more convenient to use and no longer require players to navigate through multiple menus.
