It's time for a secret summer escapade! Genshin Impact version 3.8 'Secret Summer Paradise' will release on 5 July and features tons of content, including a mystical new event with an exclusive area, new character skins, and more!

Although version 3.8 will have no new characters, much loved units like Klee, Kokomi, and Wanderer will take up event banners, so if you're gunning for constellations, weapons, or to attain any of these characters to complete your roster, this will be a good patch to do so.

And finally, our prayers to the gacha gods have been answered. It's time to wipe those tears Eula stans, because she's finally coming back for a banner run in version 3.8!

But before we get into the nitty-gritty, time for some livestream codes! Make sure to redeem them before they expire.

  • QBQ2NH6DB4Z9 - 100 Primogems, 10 Mystic Enhancement Ore

  • 2SR3PY7CA52V - 100 Primogems, 5 Hero's Wit

  • 6A836GNUA52Z - 100 Primogems, 50,000 Mora

Eula, Klee reruns on first half; Kokomi, Wanderer on second half

It has been over 500(!) days since Eula graced the event banner with her elegant presence, and it has genuinely rattled players since then. But with version 3.8, heartbroken fans can now finally rejoice at her return! Oh yeah, Eula's back with a vengeance for the 3rd time.

Running on the first half alongside Spark Knight Klee, Eula is a 5-star Cryo Claymore user whose powerful Physical DMG will be a great addition to your team.

Klee on the other hand, is a Pyro catalyst user whose cuteness hides a powerful, terrifyingly destructive streak. Mind you, it's technically canon that she brought down a Primo Geovishap all on her own!

The second half of version 3.8 will have Kokomi and Wanderer running side by side.

Kokomi, the divine priestess of Watatsumi Island, is the best healer in the game. Kokomi is a 5-star Hydro catalyst support unit, and will prove to be valuable in teams that rely on her off-field support and heal capability.

Wanderer, or more known by his former name Scaramouche, is a former Fatui Harbinger turned unlikely ally, and served as one of the main antagonists of our Sumeru journey. After his (literal) fall from grace though, he's realigned himself with the Dendro Archon. Wanderer is a 5-star Anemo Catalyst DPS with a powerful kit focused on dealing as much DMG as possible with barrage after barrage of of his powerful wind strikes.

Sorry Golden Apple Archipelago, there's no rerun for you this year.

Klee's summer escapade will now take place in Sumeru's mysterious and ancient place called Bottle Land.

Stemming from the "Legend of the Magic Bottle", it looks like Klee will have an adventure with Eula, Collei, Kokomi, Kaeya, and the Traveler inside a Magic Bottle at the invitation of her mother, the great mage Alice. Participating in this main event and playing the mini-games will yield players Primogems, character ascension materials, talent level up materials, Crown of Insight, and more, as well as the chance to invite Layla into your party and attain Kaeya's outfit "Sailwind Shadow"!

The main event will also debut new cosmetic items for Klee and Kaeya, namely outfits inspired by the Bottle Land play. Klee's outfit "Blossoming Starlight", is a special and exquisite Mage outfit that she wears only for performances. While Kaeya's aforementioned "Sailwind Shadow" is his outfit for his role as the "Dagger Bandit".

Other events

Besides the main event, players can enjoy these other events for Primogems, weapon enhancement materials, mora, and character EXP materials:

  • Shared Sight: players will assist an Amurta Researcher by collecting experimental data and finding and recovering small animals with the "Inscribed Mirror".

  • Perilous Expedition: a fighting event, players will undergo various trials in dangerous areas of Sumeru to aid an adventurer from Liyue who is studying the land of Dendro's geography and hydrology.

  • Adventurer's Trials: Advanced - a rerun of the Adventurer's Guild's beloved trials events, players will undergo numerous stages of training handcrafted by Cyrus himself.

Genius Invokation TCG will also introduce new cards and a battle mode.

Starting July, HoYoverse will host a variety of offline and online events to kickstart the return of HoYoFest. We're looking forward to enjoying another year of celebrations!

The end of the livestream gives us a sneak peak of the breathtaking scenery of Fontaine, Genshin Impact's fourth region that will be released in version 4.0.

Awash with blue, fancy fashion, robots, and the vast ocean, the nation of Justice looks to be another great adventure for us, waiting just right around the corner.

But more than just adding a new region, version 4.0 will also add a new dimension to Genshin Impact's gameplay by introducing underwater exploration and combat! While we're definitely excited for version 3.8, we're also looking forward to the release of version 4.0 and Fontaine.

For more information on what else is to come in version 3.8, you can check out the full preview livestream here.

Genshin Impact is currently in the second half of version 3.7, which will run until 4 July, with version 3.8 coming out the next day on 5 July.

Meanwhile, the highly-anticipated release of Fontaine in Genshin Impact version 4.0 will be in mid-August.
