I'll be honest: In any given day as a House Beautiful editor, I'll see dozens of pitches cross my desk touting beautiful homes with breathtaking design. One adjective I'm not so used to seeing? "Healthy." So, when I came across an apartment promising to be the "healthiest in New York City," I was intrigued. So, it seems, were some decidedly bigger names than me: namely, Leonardo DiCaprio and Kim Kardashian (you may have heard of them). So what, exactly, makes an apartment "healthy?"

Well, as it turns out, a lot. The penthouse at 66 East 11th Street, a building backed by Deepak Chopra, boasts several unconventional attributes that supposedly contribute to good health. Among them: anti-microbial coating on countertops and doors, Vitamin C-filtered showers, built-in aromatherapy, a circadian lighting system, and oak floors that allegedly improve posture. "Today’s community is very health-conscious, and everyone spends the most amount of time in their own home," reasons listing agent Holly Parker. "So, why shouldn’t the ability to be healthy be without effort–starting with your own home?"

If you're wondering who the market is for such amenities, Leonardo DiCaprio owns a unit in the building, while Kim Kardashian has toured the very penthouse Delos Living is selling for $26 million.

While that may sound like a steep price tag, the unit—and building—does come with more run-of-the-mill luxury offerings, like sweeping views of downtown Manhattan, a 2,342-square-foot terrace, an atrium ceiling, a floating staircase, and interiors by Interior Marketing Group. Plus, when it comes down to it, can you really put a price tag on your health?
