Kate Middleton Reminisces About Being A Newlywed With Prince William During Wales Trip

Kate Middleton and Prince William have made their first official visit to Wales since receiving their new respective royal titles, the Princess and Prince of Wales.

On Tuesday, the royal couple travelled to the RNLI Holyhead Lifeboat Station in Anglesey, to meet crew and volunteers. Anglesey, an island off the mainland's northwest coast, is where the couple first lived as newlyweds following their 2011 wedding, held at Westminster Abbey, London.

While at the lifeboat station, Middleton reminisced about her and Prince William's 'happy place', according to one onlooker.

Glenys Johnson, 73, who used to work at RAF Valley when the couple lived on Anglesey, waited for the new prince and princess to arrive at the café. Johnson recalled: 'She [Kate] told me they had been reminiscing about places they visited in their journey over. They said Anglesey was a happy place for them.'

Johnson added: 'William told her he needed "to brush up" on his Welsh.'

She also gushed: 'They are inspiring. It felt not real to meet them.'

Their trip to Wales marked the couple's first official visit following the royal family's mourning period for the late Queen, which ended the same day.

Myriad people gathered along the entrance to the lifeboat station, and Middleton and Prince William later shared a photo from their trip via their official Twitter account.

One photo showed Middleton sweetly greeting a four-year-old boy named Theo Crompton, who passed her a bouquet of flowers.

As she accepted the sweet gift, the mother-of-three looked in awe as Prince William stood behind her smiling from ear to ear.

Middleton and Prince William's trip follows on from King Charles III's first televised address as the new monarch over a fortnight ago, which saw him pay tribute to the couple. He spoke of how much faith he had in his eldest son and daughter-in-law, whose new title used to belong to him and the late Princess of Wales, Diana.

The King said: 'As my heir, William assumes the Scottish titles which have meant so much to me, he succeeds me as Duke of Cornwall and takes on the responsibilities for the Duchy of Cornwall which I have undertaken for more than five decades. '

He added: 'With Catherine beside him, our new Prince and Princess of Wales I know will continue to inspire and lead our national conversations, helping to bring the marshal to the centre ground where vital help can be given.'

Middleton and Prince William lived in a four-bedroom country house in Anglesey, Wales from 2011 to 2013, and it's understood to be their eldest son Prince George's first home.

When Prince William first arrived in Wales in 2010 as an RAF search and rescue pilot, within a month of working in Anglesey, he and Middleton announced their engagement.

The royal couple recently moved from Kensington Palace, London where they had lived since 2017, to Adelaide Cottage, located on the grounds of Windsor Great Park, Berkshire.

The couple live there with their three children: Prince George, nine, Princess Charlotte, seven and Prince Louis, four.
