New Zealand's health minister described himself as "an idiot" Tuesday for breaking lockdown restrictions, but kept his job coordinating the South Pacific nation's COVID-19 response. Health Minister David Clark said he offered his resignation to Prime Minister Jacinda Ardern after revealing he took a 20-kilometre (12.5-mile) drive to the beach with his family. Ardern said under normal circumstances, she would have sacked Clark -- but instead, she stripped him of the junior role of associated finance minister and demoted him in the cabinet rankings.

James King, who appeared on TLC’s “My 600lb-Life,” has died. He was 49.The reality star passed away at a Nashville hospital on April 3, according to his obituary on the Milner & Orr Funeral Home website. His cause of death has not been released.TLC confirmed King’s death in a tweet Monday.“TLC was deeply saddened by the loss of James King, who shared his weight-loss journey on My 600lb Life. He originally appeared on the show’s 2017 season. In the past, he has dealt with health issues including sepsis and cirrhosis of the liver, according to TMZ. The next time he returned to the show, his weight had increased to 840 pounds.The series follows obese individuals, seeking to undergo gastric-bypass surgery, over a year of their lives. It has been on the air since 2012.King lived in Paducah, Kentucky. He is survived by his wife, Lisa Raisor King, his father, three brothers, four daughters, two sons and 19 grandchildren.“James loved sports, especially wrestling, hockey and baseball,” his obituary continues. “James’ favorite team to cheer for was the Chicago Cubs.
