Year in Review 2022: Felicia Chin is Yahoo's most-searched female Singapore celeb

Actress Felicia Chin, who tied the knot this year with fellow celebrity Jeffrey Xu, is Yahoo Singapore readers' most-searched female Singapore celebrity for 2022.

After an intimate proposal at the Night Safari, Chin and Xu, who was also on Yahoo Singapore readers' most-searched list, wed in late October.

Chin also surprised the local scene when she made the decision to leave Mediacorp for Chinese language faith-based platform Hai Hao Ma.

After missing out on what would have been her 10th Top 10 Most Popular Female Artistes award last year, she finally snagged No.10 in April's Star Awards, all of which contributed to her topping the most-searched list, according to insights from Yahoo Search.

Next on the list of most-searched female Singapore celebrities is actress Rebecca Lim, who also recently got married after revealing her fiancé in the latter part of 2021.

Lim starred in the Chinese supernatural drama Soul Doctor, as well as the English-language Third Rail on meWatch, a series about an MRT train getting hijacked in Singapore which was filmed on two decommissioned carriages.

Lim, too, was on the winners' list for this year's Star Awards Top 10 Most Popular Female Artistes — and like Chin, also claimed her 10th in the category in 2022.

Rounding out the top three is one of the OGs of Singapore's entertainment scene, Zoe Tay herself.

She reprised her award winning role as Wang Ruojun in Mediacorp's You Can Be an Angel 4 in 2022, with the drama reflecting the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic in Singapore and its impact on elderly residents at a nursing home as well as frontline healthcare workers.

Another OG of the scene, Fann Wong, was the fourth most-searched female Singapore celebrity, and she is followed by socialite and influencer Jamie Chua in fifth.

Actress Chantalle Ng, who was seventh on the list, had a notable year, winning her first Top 10 Most Popular Female Artistes. The daughter of Mediacorp artiste Lin Meijiao and former actor Huang Yilang had made the Top 30 last year, but had failed to break into the coveted Top 10.

Actresses Carrie Wong, Jeanette Aw and Joanne Peh, along with billionaire heiress Kim Lim, completed this year's most-searched female Singapore celebrity Top 10.
