With Apple AirPods and JBL earbuds dominating the market, Hong kong-based company EarFun is throwing a spanner in the works with their product, the EarFun Free Pro. If you're clueless about the brand just like me, you'll in for a nice treat; it's the underdog we haven't seen in a while now.

What is the EarFun Free Pro like?

The two-time CES award honouree made tweaks to its first-gen EarFun Free, like reducing one and a half gram of its weight to give us the product at 4.1 grams (and still pretty light!). The EarFun Free Pro also comes with the addition of Active Noise Cancellation (ANC) to reduce ambient sound up to 28dB. Not only that, it hosts a newly developed Enhanced 4-Microphone Noise Cancellation (ENC) Technology that makes improvements in call quality.

Pairing the earbuds with my iPhone proved to be a breeze, thanks to the Bluetooth 5.2 protocol. The device's voice assistant can also be activated via the earbuds for when you'd like to place calls.

I really find the ergonomic design a big plus; the fact they fit snugly in my ear canal without any irritation is a major plus – especially useful when you're head-banging to a song or running in the gym. There is a little hook that you use to lift the buds out of your ear so you won't look like you're fiddling for other things.

Sound-wise, I loved the fact that the bass on Van She's Jamaica was so crisp and deep, even when I crank it up louder. The ANC even works to cancelling chatters in the background, giving me a clear audio experience.

While it's not yet available in Amazon Singapore, you can buy the earbuds from Amazon UK (approx. S$111) while stocks last.
