PMD users, cyclists among groups to enjoy free entry into Sentosa from 1 October
Personal mobility device (PMD) users and cyclists will be able to enjoy free entry into Sentosa from 1 October onwards, said the Sentosa Development Corporation in a press release on Friday (28 September).
The initiative, which allows PMD users and cyclists to explore the island resort’s on-road and off-road cycling trails, is part of SDC’s “commitment to cultivate a car-lite Singapore”.
In addition, organisations, community and school groups entering Sentosa via chartered coaches on weekdays – excluding public holidays – will be able to enter the island for free from 1 October as well.
This is part of the island resort’s effort to deepen its engagement with the local community, SDC said.
Groups who are eligible include those under the People’s Association and Community Development Councils, as well as organised groups from all pre-schools, government schools, and government-aided schools. Groups are required to pre-register their visit with Sentosa to enjoy the waiver.
Moreover, entry fees via the Sentosa Express will be halved to $2 for selected Transitlink concession card holders.
They are the senior citizens, persons with disabilities, workfare transport Transitlink concession card holders, as well as primary, secondary, junior college and ITE student Transitlink concession card holders. TransitLink child concession card holders can enter the island for free.
Guests who enter the island via the Sentosa Boardwalk or SBS Transit bus 123 already enjoy the island admission fee waiver. However, bus commuters must still pay the prevailing distance-based bus fare.
The latest changes to admission charges will be implemented for an initial period of two years.
