Louis Vuitton presented Women’s Spring-Summer 2021 spin-off show in Singapore amid the pandemic

Updated with show highlights.

Louis Vuitton presented its first Spring-Summer 2021 spin-off show in Singapore on Tuesday (23 March) at ArtScience Museum. The collection was first presented by Louis Vuitton Women’s Artistic Director Nicolas Ghesquière in October 2020 in Paris, France.

The first spin-off fashion show was showcased thrice on that day: 12.00pm, 4.00pm, 7.30pm, with the evening show at 7.30pm livestreamed on www.louisvuitton.com. About 112 guests were slotted for each session, and safe management measures were in place.

Apart from the Spring-Summer 2021 collection, the Summer 2021 capsule collection made its debut.

Augmenting both virtual and physical elements, the “phygital” show created unique experiences for the audience seated in the venue and those watching in front of their laptop or mobile device. Green screens formed the major part of the scenography - a backdrop for the projection of extracts from Wim Wenders’ iconic movie Wings of Desire (1987), a romantic fantasy film that ties back to Nicolas Ghesquière’s fanfare for fantasy and science fiction.

The collection explored the strength of femininity at Louis Vuitton, celebrating the freedom of expression of the modern woman. Through graphic prints in pop colours, chic tailoring, and an urban, effortless silhouette interspersed with modern savoir faire of embroideries and feminine floral motifs, these elements come together to give the Louis Vuitton woman character and personality. Presented in tandem is the Summer 2021 capsule collection, an ode to summertime and inspired by days at the beach, evoking the soft colours of sunrise, the vibrant palette of sunset, and the shades of a pristine blue lagoon.

Celebrities, media and influencers attended the historic fashion show in their best looks, as seen in the photos below.
