Joel Chan worries about going to work due to increased COVID cases

24 Jul – With COVID-19 cases resurging in Hong Kong, Joel Chan admitted that he is a little worried about going to work and coming home to his newborn son, Jaco.

As reported on Mingpao, the actor who is currently filming his new drama, "Super Emissary", stated that he has been upping the safety measures at home for the past week to ensure his son and his wife, who is still in confinement, will not be at risk.

"Every day that I go to work, my wife will prepare a bag for me containing towels, fresh set of clothes, slippers and shower supplies. After filming of the day wraps up, I will take a shower in the company first before returning home," he said.

Aside from having to ensure his safety, Joel said that going to work is also tough because he misses his little boy.

"I could only see him for an hour a day. I use that opportunity to watch him, hug him, and talk to him. Before going to work each day, I will remind him to be good and to keep his mother company," he said.

Joel also revealed that Jaco's Chinese name has been changed to Chan Ting Hing after much discussion with an elder who knows numerology.

"I happen to like the name "Hing". I originally thought about the name "Hei", but the character is difficult to write," he added.
