Anthony Wong has been banned?

23 Aug – Although it has never been confirmed before, Hong Kong actor Anthony Wong recently expressed belief that he has been banned by studios, including Hong Kong broadcaster, TVB.

As reported on SETN, the actor who sat down for an interview on ViuTV's new talk show, admitted that despite winning TV King at the 2015 TVB Anniversary Awards for his role in "Lord of Shanghai", he has heard rumours that the senior executives of the company are not keen on casting him again in their dramas.

It is noted that the actor was one of the few celebrities who were very vocal about the Hong Kong-China relationship, aside from Chapman To and Denise Ho.

It is also speculated that his recent confession about having an illegitimate son also played a role in his work trouble.

On the other hand, Anthony also revealed that the reason why he has been focusing on his theatre work was because he has not received movie and TV offers. However, he admitted that it is still difficult for him to survive by only doing stage shows in Hong Kong.

When asked if he would follow Chapman's footstep and direct his own movie, Anthony smiled and said that he has a different style compared to the latter.

"Whether or not I will continue to act in the future, I will go with the flow. I won't force it," he added.
