Alexa Chung slipped into a rather unusual outfit for a visit to Buckingham Palace on Wednesday.

Working out what to wear to meet the Royal Family is a tricky affair, but Chung has gone for a slightly left-field style choice, with the latest red carpet trend: the naked dress.

The model and presenter was invited to attend a reception hosted by King Charles and Camilla, Queen Consort to celebrate British East and Southeast Asian communities at Buckingham Palace on Wednesday, in honour of the Lunar New Year on January 22, 2023.

Chung, 39, and her brother Dominic were among those who met with Charles and Camilla for the celebrations. Other guests included representatives of the armed forces, the government, charities, the arts, media, fashion and business organisations.

The guests and royal hosts were also joined by the Princess Royal, the Earl of Wessex, the Duke of Kent, the Duchess of Gloucester and Princess Alexandra.

Chung slipped into a nearly-naked sparkling dress in a nude shade for the high-class event, and posted a picture of her outfit with Buckingham Palace in the background to her 5.2 million followers on Instagram.

“Naked dressing for Bucky P,” she wrote in the caption of the post, which has been liked over 24,000 times.

And it didn’t take long for hoards of Chung’s famous friends to comment on the images.

“Drop dead gorgeous,” wrote fellow model Daisy Lowe, whilst fans chimed in with notes of “Stunning!”, “What a dress,” and “Whoa Bucky P!”

Chung threw a black oversized woollen blazer to enter into the palace, and kept the coat on to shake hands with the King, relying on just a small diamanté hair clip to bring some sparkle whilst her dress was covered.
