Six foreigners were arrested for allegedly using electronic devices to cheat at the two casino resorts in Singapore.

In a statement released on Tuesday (10 May), the police said that the group, which comprises a Czech, 4 Russians and one Filipino, allegedly committed the offences while betting on the slot machines at the Marina Bay Sands and Resorts World Sentosa. The suspects were three men and three women aged between 33 and 41.

Following a police report on Saturday (7 May), the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) arrested four of the suspects at the casinos and the other two at a hotel at Tanjong Pagar on Sunday (8 May).

CID officers seized 16 mobile phones, a laptop, cash and other items worth more than $125,000 during the operation.

Five of the suspects will be charged in court on Tuesday (10 May) with the offence of using gaming equipment to cheat under the Casino Control Act. If convicted, the suspects face up to seven years in jail or a fine not exceeding $150,000.
