Blacklist International to donate part of M3 winnings to typhoon Odette victims

Mobile Legends: Bang Bang (MLBB) world champions Blacklist International have pledged to donate a portion of their winnings from the recently-concluded M3 World Championship to the victims of typhoon Odette (known internationally as Rai) in their home country of the Philippines.

Typhoon Odette struck the Philippines on Thursday (16 December) and quickly became one of the strongest typhoons to have hit the country this year.

Odette has displaced more than 300,000 people as it passed through Bohol, the western portion of Visayas, and mainland Palawan, with Siargao being the most hard-hit.

Tryke “TryQ” Gutierrez — co-founder of Tier One Entertainment, which runs Blacklist International — first announced on his Facebook page on Sunday (19 December) that they were “already looking for ways to send our donations to the victims of Typhoon Odette”.

TryQ has been active in sharing updates on the situation of the typhoon victims and coordinating on social media for repacking goods for relief operations. He also shared that some people in Leyte have shown much support to the Filipino MPL Season 8 champions at M3.

"Some people had checked the updates about Blacklist's M3 run on top of a hill in southern Leyte and sent the standings to him when they were able to get signal despite their situation on the other picture. My heart [melts],” TryQ said in his post.

Tier One Entertainment released a statement shortly after, confirming that Blacklist International will donate a portion of their winnings at the M3 World Championship to the typhoon victims.

“Win or lose, we will donate a portion of our winnings to help send needed items for the victims of Typhoon Odette in the Philippines,” the post said.

Blacklist International swept fellow Filipino team ONIC Philippines in the M3 World Championship grand finals, 4-0, on Sunday (19 December) to be crowned as the new MLBB world champions. The team claimed the grand prize of US$300,000 for their victory.

After winning the world championship, Blacklist International reiterated their intention to donate a portion of their winnings to victims of typhoon Odette, with coach Kristoffer Ed "BON CHAN" Ricaplaza also stating that it was a team decision during the M3 press conference.

As of the time of publishing, the team has not yet confirmed how much of their winnings will be donated.
