Filipino Wild Rift pro player Domeng dead at 22

Filipino League of Legends: Wild Rift pro player Domino “Domeng” Magbanua of FENNEL Adversity died on Sunday (6 November), his team revealed in a social media post.

News of Domeng's death was announced on the FENNEL official Facebook page on Monday (7 November). He was 22 years old.

FENNEL expressed their deepest condolences to Domeng's family but did not disclose the cause of the player's death.

“We would like to express our deepest gratitude for your kindness and friendship during his life,” FENNEL added.

Domeng was the starting jungler of FENNEL since 2021, where he and his team were able to finish first at the PPGL Fall Split and win the Asia Wild Rift Legends championship title.

FENNEL were the second runner-up of the Wild Rift Championship SEA 2022 (WCS): Philippines and finished 5th-6th at the WCS 2022 Finals.

Fans and other professionals in the esports community recognised him as a top player in the Philippines.

Filipino Wild Rift community mourns Domeng’s passing

Several Wild Rift players and personalities have expressed their condolences and grief over Domeng's untimely demise.

Buriram United Esports coach Melchor "LionatioN" Jr., who was a former coach for FENNEL Adversity, express his grief over the news on his personal Twitter account.

“I need to wake up, this is a bad bad dream,” he said. “I missed talking to you [at] 2AM…”

Content creator and caster Deadeye also expressed his grief and condolences in a Facebook post, even thanking Domeng "for showing us beautiful Wild Rift."

Others like Bryan "Autolose" Quiazon, Mika "Mikafabs" Fabella, and Hannah "Yuuko" Alcantara also expressed their condolences on social media.

The official FENNEL Facebook page indicated that once the details are finalized, they would give an update on the Wild Rift team's future direction.
