COVID-19: Singapore confirms new single-day high of 73 cases including 38 imported, total 631
SINGAPORE — The Ministry of Health (MOH) on Wednesday (25 March) announced 73 new COVID-19 cases in Singapore - a single-day high - taking the country’s total to 631.
As of 25 March 2020, 12pm, the MOH confirmed an additional 38 imported and 35 local cases of COVID-19 in Singapore.
The 38 imported cases had travel history to Europe, North America, Asean and other parts of Asia. All except one were returning residents and Long-Term Pass holders.
27 cases are linked to clusters or previous cases while eight cases are currently unlinked.
2 new clusters at Fengshan preschool, Dover school
There were two new clusters as of Wednesday.
18 of the confirmed cases are linked to a new cluster at PCF Sparkletots Preschool @ Fengshan Blk 126 at Bedok North Street 2. 14 of the cases are staff at the preschool, and four are family members of Case 601.
Three of the confirmed cases (Cases 556, 618 and 626) are linked to a new cluster at Dover Court International School (301 Dover Road). All three are staff at the school.
14 of the confirmed cases are linked to Wizlearn Technologies.
47 of the confirmed cases are linked to a private dinner function at SAFRA Jurong on 15 February.
Two are linked to the Boulder+ Gym at Kallang Avenue and Church of Singapore at Bukit Timah. Six of the confirmed cases are linked to the Boulder+ Gym. Five of the confirmed cases are linked to the Church of Singapore.
Three of the confirmed cases are linked to Masjid Al-Muttaqin at Ang Mo Kio Avenue 6.
Contact tracing is underway for 44 locally transmitted cases to establish any links to previous cases or travel history to affected countries or regions.
Five more cases have been discharged as of Wednesday. To date, a total of 160 cases have fully recovered from the infection and have been discharged from hospital. Of the 404 confirmed cases who are still in hospital, most are stable or improving. 17 are in critical condition in the intensive care unit.
65 cases who are clinically well but still test positive for COVID-19 have been transferred to Concord International Hospital, Mount Elizabeth Hospital and the Community Isolation Facility at D’Resort NTUC for isolation and care. Two have passed away from complications due to COVID-19 infection.
As of Wednesday, 12pm, MOH has identified 8,930 close contacts who have been quarantined. Of these, 2,643 are currently quarantined, and 6,287 have completed their quarantine.
