Barber leaves coworker speechless with unexpected act of solidarity: 'You are not alone'

An emotional video showing the friendship between two barbers is making the rounds on social media.

Neftali Martín and Joel Ortega both work at Lords and Barbers in Alicante, Spain. In a TikTok clip posted on April 8 by Martín, Ortega’s unexpected act of solidarity left Martín, who’s battling cancer, in tears.

In the video, Martín is shown sitting in Ortega’s barbershop chair with a striped gown on as Ortega shaves Martín’s head with a pair of clippers.

When Martín’s hair was down to a buzzcut, Ortega shockingly took the clippers and began to shave his own head. Martín put his head in his hands and started to cry immediately. Ortega gave himself a matching buzzcut, but Martín was so moved he could hardly even look up to see it.

“‘You are not alone.’ Those were the words of my great friend and coworker, immediately afterward, he shaved his head telling me that until I grew back he would continue shaving with me,” Martin wrote in Spanish on Instagram. “For those who do not know him, Joel is not just a coworker, for me a brother. I love you, bro.”

The video received over 10 million views and 2.5 million likes on TikTok.

“Man did not even hesitate to take his own hair off,” one user commented.

“I needed that restoration in humanity,” another said.

“Bro, I’m not crying, you’re crying,” someone wrote.
